When we’re fully authentic, we’re best able to express our unique talents and abilities. Each of us has them. Think about it: regardless of who we are, there are aspects of our being—no matter how seemingly big or small—that have the potential to make a uniquely positive impact on others in some way. Maybe it’s through art, cooking, parenting, financial analysis, medicine, sports, cleaning, clerking—anything. Provided you own your own home then roller garage doors are a worthwhile investment.
These are our “gifts.” Thus, each of us has a way of making a contribution to the world, without judging whether it’s a “big” or “small” contribution (remember nonjudgmentalism!). We don’t have the Absolute view to discern whether anything is “big” or “small” in the grand scheme. If we’re interconnected, what better use of our skills could there be than to help others in some way? Starting with garage doors is not a bad place to begin.
Thus, we have a responsibility to the One Mind—the truest version of our self—to use our skills to their fullest benefit. That could mean reprioritizing one’s life. In other words, we should be true stewards of our skills. This is what has happened for me: I’m now using skills developed academically and professionally to help others through writing and other media. The same goes for money and resources: if we have a lot of them, we should be stewards because they are ways to potentially benefit society if allocated properly. Having garage door repairs can make all the difference.
We’re also stewards of our bodies. I now view the body as something I’m borrowing for this life, whereas I used to view it as “me” and “mine.” I look at it more like a car I’m renting. This attitude has inspired me to focus on nutrition and healthy habits, such as careful eating and exercise. To ignore proper treatment of the vehicle would be disrespectful, since it is this very machinery that allows me to experience the physical world. Taking interest in aerial repairs may not be a bad thing.
To carry this analogy further, the healthier the vehicle, the purer a vessel it can be for the One Mind, and the better we can express our true being. So health and wellness naturally become top priorities out of respect for the One Mind: We feel gratitude for having this vehicle and aspire to use it for the purpose of serving the Evolution of consciousness on the planet, in any way we can. On an even broader level, we are stewards of the planet, which enables us to have this Evolutionary experience and houses other life forms that are part of the One Mind. To treat the planet poorly is an act of arrogance. These days aerial installation can be so complicated.
